We believe that theBible is the word of God and is without error in the original writings. The bible is the authority to which we turn to know about God and know how to live in today’s world. (2 Tim 3:16-17)
We believe that there is one God who made the heaven’s, the earth, and all that is in them. He not only made everything, but holds everything together and is ruler over all. God is perfectly Holy and just, full of wisdom, love, truth, and mercy. God is eternal and exists in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Heb 11:3)
We believe that Jesus is and always was the Son of God. As the eternal Son, He is equal with the Father yet is obedient to all that the Father commands. Jesus is God who became a man born of a virgin. He lived a perfect, sinless life and gave Himself to die on the cross as the punishment for our sins. The story did not end there, on the third day Jesus was raised from the dead and ascended to heaven. We look forward to his personal and visible return. (Col 1:15-20; 1 Cor 15:3-4)
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of what is commonly called the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is indeed a person and can be grieved like any other person. At the moment of salvation, every believer receives the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit empowers Christians to live the Christian life, convicts of sin, intercedes on our behalf and guarantees the inheritance we have in Jesus Christ. (John 16:5-11; Eph 1:13-14)
We believe that men and women are created special by God. Each of us has unique value from God and has been made in His image. Shortly after the original creation, man rebelled against God and sinned. As a result, we are all guilty of that sin and the Bible describes mankind as slaves to sin. When we are honest with ourselves, we must admit that we are sinners and fall far short of what a perfect and holy God requires. As a result of sin, man is guilty before God and deserving of punishment. (Gen 1:26-27; Rom 3:23)
We believe that God provided a cure for our sinful state. He sent His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ to come, live a perfect live and give His own life as a payment for our sins - not just ours, but the sins of the whole world! Since God is perfect, he must punish sin and Jesus took that punishment for each of us. Salvation is a free gift that we receive by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. (John 3:16-17; Rom 5:8; 10:9-10)
We believe that all who have trusted in Jesus Christ are part of the body of Christ. We have a responsibility to help one another grow in Jesus Christ and serve the Lord together as a body. This occurs through regularly coming together in a local church. There are many good teachers on the radio, but true fellowship and growth comes as we work together. (Eph 4:11-12)
